Ellacor

Conveniently located to serve Atlanta, Metro Atlanta, and Dunwoody

We’re excited to be one of the first aesthetic practices in the state of Georgia to offer this new and revolutionary device for skin laxity! Ellacor uses micro-coring technology developed by leaders in the laser and aesthetic world to tighten skin without the need for thermal injury or surgery! This procedure can be done safely under local anesthesia with 3-5 days of downtime. It’s the perfect option for people looking to tighten skin for a refreshed and more youthful appearance!

How ellacor Works

We’re proud to offer ellacor®, a new breakthrough, non-surgical solution for moderate and severe wrinkles.

Your ellacor procedure will be customized to YOU — and better yet, the ellacor procedure only lasts about 30 minutes on average. Local anesthesia ensures the patient is comfortable throughout the entire procedure.

Patients experience minimal downtime, returning to normal activities about 3 days post-procedure.

As every patient is different, some patients may need up to 3 procedures for best results.

Before and After

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ellacor?

Ellacor is a breakthrough non-surgical procedure to significantly reduce moderate to severe wrinkles in the mid to lower face.

Our practice is the first in our area to offer this to our patients. We’ve had many patients asking us for this procedure because they want more results than what microneedling or dermal fillers can give but aren’t yet ready or don’t need a face lift yet. This is the perfect in-between procedure for them.

Who is a good candidate for ellacor?

Ellacor is FDA cleared for the treatment of moderate to severe wrinkles in adults who are 22 or older, with Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV.

Our office will provide a complimentary consultation to see if you’ll be a good candidate, based on your goals.

You’ll want to discuss with our staff if you have had dermal fillers in the treatment area during the previous six months, pregnant / nursing, or have a history of certain skin conditions.

How does ellacor work?

Ellacor uses micro-coring technology with hollow needles to remove up to 12,000 tiny micro-cores of excess skin. The micro- cores are so miniscule, it doesn’t leave any scars.

The process triggers collagen production and the skin’s natural healing process, which results in the improved appearance of wrinkles.

In clinical studies, patients saw a 90% improvement and 9 out of 10 patients were satisfied with their results.

Ellacor patients in our practice have been very happy with their results, too!

How is ellacor different from other procedures?

Ellacor removes micro-portions of excess skin to achieve an improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, whereas many other skin revitalization devices use heat generated by laser, radio frequency and ultrasound energy to induce intentional thermal injury to the skin.

How many procedures will I need?

Every patient is different, and we take pride in customizing our procedures to what YOU need.

That said, we find that patients have the best results in a series of three procedures spaced a month apart.

How long is the procedure?

The procedure itself takes about 30 minutes, but we recommend you set aside 90 minutes for pre and post procedure activities.

Is the procedure painful?

Not at all! The procedure is comfortable for our patients. Your provider will start by injecting local anesthesia into the treatment area and may apply a strong topical numbing cream, to minimize discomfort.

Once you’re numb, your provider will move a mechanical handpiece methodically across the treatment area, creating the micro-cores in a grid-like pattern.

Is there any downtime?

Most patients experience redness and swelling that subsides over time.

For the first week, you want to use a gentle skin cleanser and use sunscreen with SPF 30+. While your skin is healing, you’ll also want to avoid makeup or skin products.

Our staff will provide you with post-procedure instructions to optimize your healing for the best results.

Can I still get ellacor if I have injectables?

Yes, as long as it’s not in the treatment area.

Tell your provider if you’ve had injectables or skin treatments in the area within the last 6 months or if you’ve had surgery in the treatment area within the last 12 months as you may need to wait a little while before you have an ellacor procedure.

During your complimentary consultation, our staff will help assess your skin and customize the procedure to your skin goals.

How is ellacor different from microneedling or facelifts?

Microneedling uses small needles to injure the tissue, but skin is not removed during this procedure – the tissue is temporarily displaced. Typically, microneedling is recommended for fine lines and wrinkles.

A facelift is a surgical procedure with more dramatic results but can come with longer downtime.

Ellacor is different because it uses micro-coring technology with hollow needles to remove up to 12,000 tiny micro-cores of excess skin. The micro-cores are so miniscule, it doesn’t leave any scars. The process triggers collagen production and the skin’s natural healing process, which results in the improved appearance of wrinkles.

Many ellacor patients want better results than what microneedling can offer but don’t want or aren’t ready for a facelift. That’s where ellacor can be the right solution for them.
