May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month
With summer around the corner, it’s important to remember to be safe and careful in the sun this summer. Prevention is always best! Wearing sunscreen and protective clothing are some of the best ways to avoid sun burns and damaging UV rays. Your skin over the years will thank you. For those who have a history of skin cancer, or significant sun damage, at least an annual skin check is recommended so that we can detect skin cancers early, before they become big problems.
See below for more facts on skin cancer from the Skin Cancer Foundation.
- Skin cancer is the most common skin cancer in the U.S. and worldwide
- 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70
- >2 people die of skin cancer every hour in the U.S.
- Having 5+ sun burns doubles your risk of melanoma
- When detected early, melanoma survival is 99%
On Sunday May 9th we celebrate the mothers in our lives who raised us, nurture us, and keep our lives and families running smoothly. This year, more than ever, mothers have been put to the test juggling jobs and often children at home with school during the pandemic. Treat the moms in your life to something special this month. We have gift cards available and would love to help you spoil the mothers in your life.

The Gift of Lyft!
Treat your mom (or self) to 2 syringes of Lyft and get a treatment of Dysport or a syringe of Kysse on us!
Lyft is an excellent filler to use to recreate cheeks/define cheek bones, refill temples, or help define a chin. Kysse is a soft and pliable filler used in the lips. Our goal is always to create a natural look, and these Restylane products don’t disappoint! Dysport is a botulinum neurotoxin that softens dynamic wrinkles when scowling, frowning, raising eyebrows or smiling.
*This patient had volume loss of the central face and cheeks. Filler to the cheeks helped
recreate a rounder, softer, and refreshed appearance.
What’s the Best Sunscreen?
Summer is around the corner and that means more time outdoors, vacations, and pool time! Make sure you keep your skin safe and protected. We are often asked ‘what’s the best sunscreen out there?’ While we can give some pointers, the best sunscreen is one you actually wear, EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.
We’re happy to share samples of sunscreen with you or check out our ELTA tester counter in the waiting room.
